Description :  It is an errect,branching plant,1.5m high,wholly covered with white stellate hairs,having ovate and upto 5-10 cm long leaves and bi-sexual greenish or  lurid yellow flowers about 1 cm long in clusters. Its berries are in 6 mm diameter and partially enclosed in the enlarged calyx and seeds are yellow. It is also called ‘Oxan-booti’

Action and Uses: The root has tonic,stimulant,alterative and aphrodisiac effect. It is beneficially used in general and nervine debility and impotency in spermatorrhoea,premature ejaculation,leucorrhoea and blood dis-changes from the uterus.

It has also good anti-phlegamatic,anti-rheumatic and resolvent action. It is very effectvie in rheumatism and arthritis internally and externally alone or in combination of other drugs e.g. Merendera persiaca,Alphinia galanga and Pyrethrum indicum

It is very efficacious for toning up the uterus when used internally in habitual miscarriage.
