Description :

The herb is well-known in india for its medicional virtues. In olden days. It was imported from iron to India and considered genuine and very effective. However, it is now available in kashmir and other parts of india. Kashmir varities are considered good and known as Banafsha Kashmiri.’

It is a globrous or pubescent herb rarely more than 15 cm in height.arising from a root. It is also considered quite effective in the treatement of eczema.

Action and Uses :The herb or flower is very useful as demulcent,expecorant,diaphoretic,anti-pyretic and di-uretic in catarrhal and pulmonary troubles and in calculous affections. It is used in cold,catarrh,coughs, sore throat, horseness,sinusitis , bronchitis ,pneumonia ,pleurisy,asthma ,fevers,kidney and liver disorders.The herb is emetic and cathartic quite effective in the treatment of eczema.

Banafsaj is useful in headache,acute cough, acute conjunctivitis and in constipation. It is demulcent,lexative,diuretic. Its drink is useful in pleurisy and pneumonia. It is sedative on external application and its oil is very good in scabies.
